Amersham Road estate 20mph zone proposal

Proposed introduction of a 20mph zone for the Amersham Road estate. This zone will be made compliant (and reduce traffic speeds) via the installation of full-width speed humps of a ‘sinusoidal’ influenced design that is intended to lessen the initial impact.

Approval was given by the Traffic Management Sub-Committee in September 2026 to carry out a statutory consultation on this scheme, which can be viewed in the drawings at the bottom of this page.

We are now carrying out a consultation with the public on this proposal. Responses can be sent to us by email to highway.objections@reading.gov.uk, by completing the survey below or in writing to Highway Objections, Network Services, Highways & Traffic Services, Reading Borough Council, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading RG1 2LU.

Should you wish to provide feedback for this proposal, please complete the survey below, clearly stating your overall view (e.g. support, object) and your reasons for this view.
