Garrard Street - Waiting Restrictions and Parking Places

Introduction of new waiting restrictions within the new development One Station Hill:

The proposal consists of the revocation of pay and display bays on Greyfriars Road and replacement with a ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restriction along with a ‘No Loading’ between 7.30am – 9.30am and 4.00pm - 6.00pm restriction to facilitate the delivery of advisory cycle lanes on both sides of the Greyfriars Road carriageway.

To facilitate the Advisory Cycle Lanes at the southern end of Greyfriars Road it is necessary to remove the existing speed cushions, as these would create conflict for cyclists, with them replaced with priority working between two islands creating separation for the Advisory Cycle Lanes that are continued on the outside.

A 12m length of pay and display bay is provided at the eastern end of Garrard Street thereby partially re-providing for the bay removed during the Station Hill construction works. The reduced length of bay is to aid access and egress into the shared loading facility for Station Hill and Thames Tower on Garrard Street with this reduction already mitigated by the provision of an additional pay and display parking bay for two vehicles on Garrard Street, previously provided as part of the Station Hill Phase 1 scheme.
