Reading Libraries - New Central Library and Themes for Service

Reading Central Library will move from the current building into a newly extended Civic Centre in 2026. All Reading's libraries are benefiting from Arts Council England investment into new IT equipment this year too, it's a really exciting time for Reading's libraries!

We asked you what you wanted to see in the new Central library in 2023. Thank you for all your comments and we have included lots of your feedback and ideas into the planning!

You will see some indicative images of the new library, which you’re welcome to provide thoughts on, and some questions about our proposed updated themes for the service.

In 2021, we asked you about our service themes for the future. Your feedback informed what we did as a service and how we approached designing the new space. We want to ask you about this again.

We are really excited about the improvements you will see in all our libraries over the next year.

Closing date is 26 July 2025, If you have collected a paper survey, please hand this back to library staff by this date.
