Northcourt Avenue traffic calming

CIL Locally Funded Scheme - Northcourt Avenue consultation

Proposed introduction of a 20mph zone on Northcourt Avenue and Wellington Avenue. This zone will be made compliant (and reduce traffic speeds) via the installation of full-width speed humps of a ‘sinusoidal’ influenced design that is intended to lessen the initial impact.

Approval was given by the Traffic Management Sub-Committee in September 2024 to carry out a statutory consultation on this scheme, which can be viewed in the drawings at the bottom of this page.

We are now carrying out a consultation with the public on this proposal. Responses can be sent to us by email to highway.objections@reading.gov.uk, by completing the survey below or in writing to Highway Objections, Network Services, Highways & Traffic Services, Reading Borough Council, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading RG1 2LU.

All of the feedback to the consultations will be anonymously reported to the Traffic Management Sub-Committee. The Sub-Committee will review the feedback received and will decide whether or not the proposals should be installed.

The closing date is 6th June 2025.
