Wensley Road - Traffic Calming measures
The scheme involves improving road safety on Wensley Road, the relocation of existing traffic calming measures and the addition of extra measures to enhance the quality of life for communities.
- Reduce vehicle speeds: Slower speeds mean fewer accidents and less severe injuries if crashes happen.
- Improve pedestrian safety: Measures like speed bumps, curb extensions, and pedestrian crossings make it safer for people to walk, especially kids and elderly.
- Encourage cycling and walking: Safer streets promote healthier, more active lifestyles and reduce reliance on cars.
- Decrease noise and pollution: Slower and smoother traffic flow reduces noise and emissions in neighborhoods.
- Enhance community feel: Traffic calming creates a friendlier, more livable environment where people feel comfortable outside.
- Prevent dangerous driving: It discourages speeding, aggressive driving, and shortcutting through residential areas.
